When are you protected against COVID-19 after being vaccinated?

Some COVID-19 vaccinations require two shots to ensure full protection.

The Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines each require two shots. You will be fully vaccinated two weeks after your second shot.

The Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine requires one shot. You are also considered fully vaccinated two weeks after this shot. The J&J vaccine was approved in April this year after 470 000 health workers showed favourable results in those inoculated in a research study conducted from mid-February to May

You’re not fully protected until you’ve had your second shot, or it has been less than two weeks since your J&J shot. It’s important to continue practising proper hand sanitizing with a 70% alcohol sanitizer spray, to social distance, and wear your mask.

To help stop the spread of harmful viruses, it’s important to practice good hygiene – washing hands with soap and using a 70% alcohol aerosol hand sanitizer, like OmniProtect Sanitizer Spray. OmniProtect supplies bulk sanitizer and handheld room foggers in convenient aerosol canisters.
